Introducing Equo Chromium v138: Our New Major Release
The highlights of this release include updates in performance, UI, APIs, and more:
Performance: improvements that keep UIs smooth and responsive, even during long tasks
CSS & Layout: support for nested CSS rules, HDR controls with dynamic-range-limit, and scroll-driven UI primitives for richer user interfaces
Web APIs: Document Picture-in-Picture, <dialog> lifecycle events, and File System Access API on Android/WebView
UI Components: fully customizable native <select> menus and improved light-dismiss behavior for dialogs
DevTools: AI-assisted debugging, a new Privacy & Security panel, upgraded Performance tooling, and Lighthouse 12.5 integration
Security: Enhanced security protocols and vulnerability fixes
LTS Support: this version will receive security patches backported for a longer period of time compared to previous releases
Requirements: v138 comes with updated minimum platform requirements. Make sure to review them before upgrading!
